Wanneroo was named after the town where Mitchum
lived in Australia. As with most of our stud dogs, we like to use them
on our own stock first and Wanni was the creation of Fletcher's proving
stud to Ruby Tuesday.
Wanni had the most delightful head, good stop and rise of skull, very
good mouth, correct shoulder and hind angulation, and a short strong topline.
Wanni won the RCC under breed specialist Millicent Knox-Ingram at Crufts
in 1995. However, one of the most memorable weekends was winning 2 CCs
in two days in Ireland under breed specialists Ken Broughton and Annabel
Zammit.
After Wanni had finished his show career (and mainly because Fletcher
and Wanni disliked each other intensely we couldnt have them both
in the house) we decided to let him go to some good friends of ours, Judy
and Nigel Bean, who live not far from us in Newark. Here he spent the
rest of his days in the lap of luxury, which is what all boxers should
have the chance to do in their retirement.
